Our Impact

Increased New York State funding from $4.5 to $12.5 million for LGBT Health and Human Services.

Secured a historic $3 million dollars for Transgender and Gender Non-Binary New Yorkers and advocated for legislation creating a state-wide Trans Wellness & Equity Fund.

Led NYS advocacy mandating over 340,000 state employees to receive Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA) cultural competency training—a first in the nation.

Helped repeal the ‘Walking While Trans Ban;’ Pass the Gender Expression Non Discrimination Act, the Lorena Borjas Trans Wellness and Equity Fund Act, and the Affirming Gender Identities in Utilities Act.

Developed a Civic Engagement and Public Education Project (CEPEP) program that hosts monthly educational forums on anti-discrimination protections, sexual health, financial literacy, and civic engagement for LGBTQ New Yorkers.

Collaborated with Columbia University, created an LGBTQ Civic Engagement survey resulting in New Pride Agenda's focused priorities, public health, affordable housing, racial disparities, and economic opportunities and equity for New Yorkers.

Created a list of 16,000 LGBTQ New Yorkers with a social media following of 3k and growing every day.

Received statewide and national media attention in New York Times, Gay City News, City and State, Wall Street Journal, NBC News and Bloomberg.

Joined Freedom for All Americans coalition in 2021, as the New York state representative leading work on passing federal anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ Americans.
