NEW YORK LGBTQ+ BUSINESS COUNCIL

NEW YORK LGBTQ+ BUSINESS COUNCIL

NEW YORK LGBTQ+ BUSINESS COUNCIL

Over 500 anti-LGBTQ bills were considered across the United States in 2023. A record 80 bills were signed into law, most targeting transgender youth and athletes. Yet beyond the direct attacks on LGBTQ+ people, diversity programs at companies nationwide are also under attack. Efforts are being made to instill fear in companies for supporting LGBTQ+ consumers. By engaging companies, their employees, and DEI departments, we can ensure that false media narratives do not infiltrate our state’s laws, nor the business practices and human resource departments of companies doing business in New York.

NEW YORK LGBTQ+ BUSINESS COUNCIL MEMBERS:

  • Align themselves with support for LGBTQ+ human rights, supporting New York’s premier state-wide LGBTQ+ organization

  • Connect with other companies to share best practices

  • Participate in creating opportunities for leadership and professional development of LGBTQ+ leaders

  • Create as well as sign onto statements of support for LGBTQ+ policy initiatives

  • Demonstrate support for NPA’s work with financial support

  • Recruit other Council members in the New York State business community

  • Attend NPA donor appreciation events

  • Receive publicity and recognition from the NEW Pride Agenda through its communication channels and events

  • Attend as well as host Business Council gatherings, building stronger relationships across industries and companies

  • Attend Council-sponsored volunteer or fundraiser events

Whether you are looking for a way to demonstrate the values of your company or want to engage and retain diverse employees, the NYS LGBTQ+ Business Council is the perfect opportunity to take positive action as well as connect with other companies with similar values, during a time when LGBTQ+ rights & diversity efforts are under attack.
